Mareks first day of preschool 2013-2014

Marek was only able to attend school for about three weeks last year because of where his birthday fell, so today marks the first day of school for the new school year. Of course I didn't give myself  enough time to get everything ready, so I was rushing around like a crazy person. I should have woken Marek up sooner so that he could have a better breakfast. Since I didn't, he had cereal and juice in the wagon on the way to school. At least I had his sign made, backpack and lunch already packed, and clothes laid out. In 15 minutes we were dressed, teeth brushed, hair fixed, and pictures taken. Three blocks to school we go, and somehow we made it on time.

His teacher said that he was laughing in the halls seeing all the kids in school. He seemed to have a great first day. They said he remembered circle time and a few other things despite summer break.  Landon and Addy tagged along when it was time for pick up. They of course cried when they couldn't go in, and when it was time to leave. They start their preschool next week at a local church. It will be three times a week for five hours a day. I'm so excited for them.

Way to go my big, smart baby boy!

weekend in the country

Since one of my favorite aunts planned a visit to Texas, we went up to visit Memaw and Pepaw out in the country to see them. I have determined that country air means dirty babies, four wheeler rides, and now a "redneck" swimming pool. The kids had a blast and so did I. I was able to see my Marine cousin Joseph who is going soon to Afghanistan, and his adorable daughter Lyla. Lets just say Addy and Lyla became fast friends and played constantly throughout the weekend. Too much good food was definitely had by this Momma, but I was sad that it ended so soon.

Addy found a sand pile to play in.

Landon was super happy to ride the four-wheeler with Pepaw.

Joe and Addy go for a ride too.

Can I get a "Yea!"

Cousin Joe, Lyla, and Aunt Dot-
Love them!

Pepaw converted a cattle tank into the perfect swimming pool for these kiddos.

But just a plain ole swimming hole wasn't good enough for Pepaw. He decided a water feature was needed to spice up this pool.

"Redneck fountain" Haha. Great idea I think.

move over elizabeth,,, there is a new queen in town!

Adalynn, age 3
favorite color: yellow
favorite cartoon: Dora the explorer
Favorite foods: pancakes, cereal, breakfast sausage, waffles, bananas, chicken nuggets, apples, grapes, corn dogs, French fries, pepperonis, oatmeal, quesadillas, chips, raisins, fruit snacks, orange juice & pizza
favorite toy: ipad
favorite clothing: skirts
favorite song: all of them. She loves singing! Even if its singing about going to the potty.
Even though she is only three, Adalynn is a total Diva and Drama Queen. She can be sweet and silly one minute, and if she doesn't get her way, throwing a raging tantrum the next. But she is also super smart. She just absorbs so much and learns so fast. She frequently uses Spanish in her everyday conversation that she has learned from Dora, knows every animal, color, letter, number, shape, and picks up words to songs so fast. I definitely see her making top grades in school. Did I mention how pretty she is too. It's weird since she looks like me, but I think she is so beautiful. And she definitely try's and try's until she gets her way. I don't know where she gets that from...... ;)

Favorite song: Old McDonald
Favorite foods: cereal, pancakes, mandarin oranges, cantaloupe, watermelon, French fries, chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, marshmallows, juice, peaches, pepperonis, chips, raisins, & fruit snacks
favorite toy: ipad
favorite clothing item: baby blanket
This sweet boy warms your heart. He is resourceful, persistent, and smarter than I could possibly know. He knows his colors, counts to 30, says perfectly his ABC's, and knows tons of animals and their sounds. We are currently working on him elaborating his speech into two and three word sentences. I am very excited about what this next year in preschool is going to bring out in him. One day I know he will start saying long, complex sentences and I'll have forgotten their ever was a time when he struggled to communicate with us. I love him so much.

all about Landon

Landon, age 3
favorite color: Red
favorite cartoon: Dora the explorer
favorite foods: bananas, breakfast sausage, cheeseburgers, strawberries, tator tots, chicken nuggets, ice cream, chocolate milk, cookies, pancakes, cereal
favorite song: ABC song
favorite clothing: camo "daddy" crocs
favorite toy: playing games on the ipad, puzzles
Landon is an early riser (very annoying I might add) and starts the day wide awake and ready to go. Once he spends a little time watching cartoons, it's on to whatever he can destroy, I mean play with. He is a cuddle bug, bossy butt, and big helper rolled into one. He is so smart and watches you to figure things out so that he can do it himself. He likes to help mom unload the dishwasher as well as let the dog in and out of the backyard.  He is doing well on his potty training except pooping in the potty. But his favorite is going pee pee in the grass. Adalynn is Landon's best friend, and he is constantly yelling her name across the house. Landon has such a cute face but don't let that sweet face fool you. You definitely have to keep your eye on this little toot. He will be quietly playing with his toys one second and running permanent marker  down the wall the next. He is outgoing, loving, smart, and completely irreplaceable in my heart.

Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen is a staple restaurant in a small town including the one I grew up in.  Of course we live in a big suburb, but we did find a rural Dairy Queen about 10 miles from the house. Off I took the kiddos with my best friend amber, her husband Justin and their kids. Anytime ice cream is involved you have some happy kids.

Grapevine aquarium

I took the kids this past week to the grapevine aquarium, and we honestly had a great time. It's a smaller scale aquarium which was perfect for my three year olds. When you buy a ticket it is for an all day pass so you can go in and out as you please.

I love Adalynn's smile here. I truly think she gets more beautiful every day.

Climbing into the tunnel for a better look at the fish and stingrays.

That's a big turtle.

Bubble babies

I think this is the evil eel from the little mermaid.

How tall of a shark are you Landon?

I think Addy is a taller shark.

The aquarium has a small indoor play area that the kids really enjoyed. They especially love slides. You can really see the joy in Marek's face.

After running through the entire aquarium once, we decided it was time for a break and lunch. Of course the baby merry-go-round caught my eye. Disappointingly, after putting in my coins the machine failed to work.  Not fun with three crying toddlers.

After lunch I had to make it up to them in a big way. A much larger, better, and more beautiful carousel.

Awesome Mama!
After lunch it was back to the fishes, ending with a trip through the souvenir shop. Everyone selected their own colorful fish to take home.

Lets just say the ride home after a long day of fun was one of mama's favorite parts of the day.

Landon and orange fish we named Carrot

Adalynn and yellow fish we named Lemon Drop

Marek and pink fish we named Lollipop
