chatter box

I am one proud Mommy this week in regard to Marek's speech. Just this week alone he has added seven new words to his vocabulary. I am in total awe of him. His new words are : blue, yellow (sounds like row-row), star, are, poo-poo, ball, and one other word i can't seem to remember right now. Crap! Anyway his speech therapist said that working with him made her day since she was having such a bad morning. He has started finishing the ends of songs. Such as twinkle twinkle little "star" how i wonder what you "are"! This boy loves music. Even my horrendous singing. Oh i remember now: baby. Love him.

Addy has been talking like crazy. Three and four word sentences. My favorite thing that she says all the time is, "I am so happy!" It's so cute. Love her. Right now she has also been biting like crazy. And usually her target is Landon. They are fighting all the time now especially over toys. Just yesterday as i was giving Marek a bath, i hear Landon screaming (the i was bitten scream) and i rush into the living room to see him yank the ipad from Addy and bang her over the head with it. Then she proceeds to start screaming, and i put them both in time out. They obsess over the ipad and iphone wanting to play their shapes and multitude of other apps. It still blows my mind how they manage to navigate through them. Thank god its programmed to ask for an itunes password to buy more apps or i would be broke.
Landon has also started to annoy the crap out of me. He has started a not listening phase that includes running away from me when its time to put pjs on or to change poopy diapers. Then he does this weird scream thing instead of talking or throwing his toys while screaming. Annoying! Plus he is constantly in my face. Literally- trying to roll on my face. If i am in my bed he thinks its roll on my face time. Funny to him not so much to me. And he's jealous of his siblings. And very whining! One good thing however is he has started drinking out of an open cup with just a straw. He is being very careful not to spill. And he wants lots of kisses and hugs. Love him

last but not least to potty

Marek is by no means ready to potty train, but i know he watches and takes in more than we probably realize. This morning since his diaper had barely any urine in it, when it is usually bursting to the max; i decided to sit him on the potty to see what would happen. Surprisingly Marek had his first pee-pee in the big potty! I think i kinda scared him when i first starting cheering. ha ha. He probably could have peed more.

His first reaction is probably why are you taking pictures mommy?

But with cheering comes smiles!

Way to go Big Boy!

Clapping for a job well done.

Say bye-bye pee-pee.

Adalynn is very proud of her baby brother.

We love you Marek! Great job!

Wait, wait and wait some more

A few weeks ago i took Marek to an evaluation for premature children under the age of three that are high risk for developmental delays. This is a clinic through a center that my family is trying desperately to get into. Its called the Child Study Center in Fort Worth and apparently the wait list is long. Our pediatrician referred us shortly after the triplets two year check-up because of my continued insistence. After a mound of paperwork and months of waiting, i received a letter stating that due to the high volume, Marek couldn't be seen at this time, and that we would have to wait several more months to hopefully get in later. This is very depressing news because i want to do everything i can to speed the process of Marek getting the resources that he needs.
Several weeks later, i received a request for Marek to be evaluated through the clinic that i mentioned earlier that is prescreening for delays in premature babies. The lady said that of the 13 check-offs  she was looking for, Marek only completed 2! My heart sank, 2, really! She then said that Marek would be put on the list to see the developmental pediatrician, but that it could take up to six months since the wait is also long. Holy crap; i feel like all we are doing is waiting.
Well today i got a call from the same clinic scheduling a meeting between me and the doctor three weeks from now. No kids are allowed, and i guess this will be when all the questions and concerns are discussed without any distractions. Then a follow-up evaluation lasting anywhere between 2-3 hours will be scheduled between Marek and this doctor. My ultimate goal is to get a definitive diagnosis for Marek. That way insurance will start paying for the therapies and resources that he needs. Right now we are in limbo. We are currently paying out of pocket for one weekly therapy since every little bit of one on one therapy helps.

Shhh! You are in the library!

Took the triplets for the first time to the public library. Apparently two days a week they have preschool story-time, and I thought that might be something fun and new that the kids could try. They love it when anyone reads books to them. Unfortunately, I probably won't be taking them back anytime soon. They acted like little monsters! I could not keep them corralled in any sort of small space. They kept running around like crazy even when the lady started reading. Landon went up front and started touching her book while all the other kids were sitting down, and she had to ask who's child this was. I kept having to run around and chase after everyone. After a few minutes I finally gave up and moved all the children over to quieter part of the library where they could do puzzles. Basically all I kept thinking was, "i gave up my gym time for this!" Grrr

Fall in love with my Fall Princess

Words can't express how absolutely beautiful i think my daugher is. The pictures speak for themselves.

Addys first haircut

It only took two 2 1/2 years but it finally came. Addy got her first haircut. We went to cool cuts 4 kids since we took the boys, so we can get a cute certificate with our little hair sample. So here are the pics before, during, and after. She did great during her haircut, and didn't act like too much of a diva. She was just slightly annoyed that the lady kept stepping in front of the TV. So now my baby girl has a cute little bob. So I will definitely have to take some really cute pictures today with something other than my cell phone camera.

trick or treat

Our house was the gathering place again this year for Halloween trick or treating. Everyone's costumes were great including yours truly! ha ha Of course my bambinos were from Oz while i was the wicked witch!

After pulling the kids around in the wagon, we decided to let Addy do her first door alone trick or treat. She has been practicing saying it all day. It's so sweet to hear. She ended up walking right by the guy with candy and headed straight for the dog in the door.  I couldn't get her attention until the guy was like, "you want candy?" She screamed, "yea candy!" Her whole catch phrase for the night was, "hi, trick n tweat, tank woo, bye-bye, see woo waiter!"

Landon's first solo door appearance. We could only get him to say trick or treat a few times, but it was very sweet watching carry their bags of candy.

We didn't get too much candy since we would only let one child occasionally go to the door, but if the homeowner was sitting in their driveway, the whole gang got to ask for candy.

Here i am. The wicked witch in all her glory! lol
