We went this past Sunday to the fort worth stockyards and the kids really seemed to enjoy themselves. They got to see cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens, but unfortunately they didn't get to pet any of them. They got to ride cute little play horses back-and-forth that I would have loved to purchase except that they were $245 Each. Definitely couldn't justify spending that much money. They also got to ride a train that they absolutely loved! We did buy them a little bubble machine that I can't wait to use but definitely an outside toy. It was a great day and it was nice to do something different besides laying around house on Sunday.

New bedding
I have been meaning to get the kids new toddler bedding for a while now. Their infant blankets are definitely not large enough to keep them warm. So I ordered them some new bedding. The boys got a blue comforter with trains and animals, and addy got pink with owls and birds. They are all so very cute. It really shows just how big my babies are getting. So maybe now if they have these new blankets maybe they will actually sleep on their beds and not on the floor half the time. Not likely though.

Owl go ballistic
I am a little artistic. I think it helps soothe my soul to do something artsy and creative every now and then, and I especially love doing it for my friends. I have made my girlfriend Amy a painting during her first pregnancy to go in her nursery and wanted to do it again for her second baby that's coming next week. The first time I did a painting for her it was of monkeys and this time around it's going to be of owls. I also did paintings for each of my babies to go over there cribs. I really enjoyed doing it even though it takes a lot of time, but it is totally worth it when I'm done. So I waited until last minute since her baby is due next week to do her owl painting, and I finally started working on it this week. I spent three hours on it on Monday, four hours on Tuesday and a few hours on Wednesday correcting the mistakes that were made Tuesday night. Those mistakes were not made by me however; it was when I looked up and saw Landon grabbing a paint brush, dipping it in black ink, and making a huge sweep across my painting while I just screamed from across the room. I won't even say how mad I was because it was my own fault for leaving the stuff out. I should know better when Landon is around! So I'm almost done with the painting. I have to do touchups tomorrow and edges plus a final once over but it should be ready by this weekend.

Sparkles
I have to share this story just because its so darn cute. This is definitely one for the baby books.
While making breakfast this morning, the kids were running around me so I sat on the kitchen floor with them while the muffins I made were cooking. It was a beautifully sunny morning, so you could see dust particles floating in the air through the kitchen window from that angle on the floor. Apparently this was Adalynn's first time to notice the floating particles because she started excitedly screaming, "sparkles, sparkles, sparkles!!" She ran in circles around the kitchen trying to catch the sparkles in her hands. She would open up her palm; check to see if she caught any, and continue running. It honestly was the cutest thing to watch.

time flies
Time flies when you are having fun, or when the days are so similar that everyday is pretty much the same as the last. Our days are more of the latter. It's been cold here, so inside staying warm has pretty much been the average day since Christmas. The kids have been playing with all their new toys and basically destroying the house everyday. We went out to my parents house for the last deer hunting weekend of the season and enjoyed the fresh air, but now we are back and in full hibernation mode. So since we are stuck in the house i decided it was time to get back into potty training mode. I had taken time away from it since the kids were fussing every time we went into the bathroom, so i realized i needed something better than just praise to make it more fun for them. We bought big boy underwear and panties for cold turkey potty training. It totally sucks by the way, and anyone who says different is lying.
Landon is is new super cute underwear.
Addy in her princess panties.
Marek is his groovy pullups.
Peek-a-boo i see you and your new toy story underwear!
Landon winning his first prize animal.
Way to go Landon. 20 potties!
What i decided to do differently was make a potty chart with their pictures on it. Every time they go pee-pee in the potty they get a sticker. Five stickers equals a piece of leftover Halloween candy, and 20 stickers equals a zoo animal prize.
Landon finally reached twenty stickers today. So he chose an alligator as his prize.
As you can see even Elmo is beating Adalynn. She is refusing to participate. Irritates me to no end so I'm focusing more on Landon now since he is more receptive. Typically every so often i take and put him on the potty and it isn't until after he already has an accident that he will come and tell me he peed. Today was the first day that he told me he needed to pee before accident. Very proud of him! way to go Landon.!!
