Amazing marek

Marek has been doing some really great things over the last few weeks. He started practicing with the occupational therapist and she was able to get him to use a spoon a few times all by himself. Normally he refuses to even touch any silverware so this is amazing for him. He also finally asked me for juice. He has never asked for anything before. Typically the other two kids ask for things and marek gets it by default, but this time he came to me, grabbed my wrist, handed me his empty cup, looked me in the eye and said juice. It took me a minute to realize who was asking me for something because I was reading at the time. I was beyond ecstatic. Today for the first time marek also pooped in the potty. We are not really potty training him, but he totally understands what the potty is for. A few times a day when we are changing his diaper, I will sit him on the potty and he will either immediately start peeing, or he will look down and you can see him straining to try to go. He claps and we cheer because he knows he did a good job. He currently has over 20 stickers on his potty chart. Pooping in the potty today was awesome! I have also been teaching him to say I love you. Now all three children have said I love you to me first. Haha! Take that daddy!

Another ambulance ride

Well another trip to the ER by ambulance is under my belt. I swear my kids are going to be the death of me. I found Landon having a seizure in the kids playroom on Tuesday. Adalynn has had several so at first I wasn't too concerned, but I immediately started timing it. I became more concerned when his didn't stop. His seizure ran longer than 15 minutes. His temperature was only 101.2 while he was seizing but by the time we got to the ER it has jumped to 103. Turns out my little guy has the flu. Dear lord. Now I'm sure everyone's going to get the flu too. By the next day he was back to his same crazy wild self. I can only imagine the horror of that medial bill!

Sickness

We have been lucky this winter with no babies or adults getting sick-until now. Princess Adalynn is rocking a runny nose, cough, fever, runny eyes, and a nasty right ear infection. I tried maintaining her fever, but once it jumped over 104 I knew she might start seizing again if I didn't get it down fast and some real medicine in her. I had to use the cold bath method when it was too soon to give another dose of meds. Her scream was heartbreaking! But it worked. Fever went from 104.3 to 102.9 after bath. Urgent care gave her two shots and antibiotics for ten days. Lets hope the boys stay healthy.
