i know i know, I'm a horrible blogger lately. I have still been reading all the blogs i follow, i just haven't been pulling my weight i guess. Lets see, what has happened since the fourth of July? I have bought a potty seat for Adalynn and pulls-ups to really begin her potty training. She has peed a few times on the potty, but i haven't really been putting a lot of effort into constantly taking her to the bathroom. Time and energy is a big issue, but also i wanted her to watch me potty more to really understand the concept. This last week she has started coming and telling me when she poops in her diaper, so i have decided if she is smart enough to do that, then i guess she is really for more of a commitment from me helping her potty train. Addy still sees a speech therapist twice a month. She now says tons of words, and is great at learning new ones. My favorite words that she says are "circle", "chicken", and "swimming." She can count from one to ten, then backwards from 10 to 1, she knows all her colors, knows all the Mickey Mouse characters, and is a constant diva who can drop to the floor in an instant.
Marek just got his paperwork in to start private speech therapy lessons. He has not improved at all just watching Landon and Addy's sessions, so its time for more rigorous one on one time.I hope he starts to improve soon, since i really worry about him. He has started playing their toddler piano several times a day. I don't know if its the music he likes or the keys lighting up, but its so sweet to sit and watch him play. I definitely want to get him a larger keyboard for Christmas. Yesterday, Marek walked into the street when i wasn't looking. I could have busted his butt into next week i was so mad. The kids walk to the car by themselves when we go places and mostly climb in the van by themselves too. When we get back home, i let them run to the door to wait for me while i get the next kid out. Marek was the first out of the car, and by the time a got the last kid out he wasn't standing by the door. GRRRR! Thank goodness it wasn't peak time for traffic. He definitely needs to improve on his listening!
Landon has started eating yogurt with a spoon with little to no mess. I really am impressed with how quickly he problem solves and learns new things. The kids have been practicing with forks for months and Landon and Adalynn are getting better each time. Of course Marek refuses to use one. But now i can feed Landon yogurt as a snack, so its nice to have another alternative. He loves helping Momma with activities, such as putting dirty dishes in the sink, and shoes are his favorite accessory.
I finally went through all the clothes and boxed up everything they have outgrown. The boys are in size 24 months, and I'm keeping Addy in 18 months a little longer. There are three boxes of 24 month clothes for her, so until she completely grows out of 18 months there isn't enough room for both sizes in her drawers.
